We are a Canadian couple, Radha and Joel, in our early 30's. Radha is a writer and Joel is a physicist. For the last two years, we have been living in the Netherlands for Joel's work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delft. In summer 2019, we are moving to London for Joel's new research work.
We're experienced housesitters, though we are new to Housecarers . All of our previous sits have been through another site, where we still maintain a profile with 100% 5-star reviews (7 reviews in total, which we have uploaded as photos to this site).
We LOVE animals and have lots of experience with them, both from growing up with pets, and from house-sitting. We love pampering all the pets we meet and forming a connection with them.
We have completed house-sits in Spain, Oxford, Vancouver, New York, and the Netherlands. We have looked after many dogs and cats, two birds, a snake, and a turtle.
One housesitting highlight for us was spending two months with five dogs in the Spanish countryside. There were two mixed-breed lab-sized dogs, one large 50-kg also mixed-breed dog, a spaniel, and a young terrier. We took them on long walks through the town and up the mountain every day.
The other house-sits we have completed have been shorter, ranging from 1-3 weeks. We take the greatest care looking after our hosts' homes, and all of our hosts have left us 5-star reviews, including 5 stars for cleanliness.
We have previously volunteered on organic farms through the WWOOF organization, so we are comfortable looking after farm animals like sheep, goats, and chickens.
During our first year in London, Radha will be completing the novel she is writing (she completed an MA in creative writing a few years ago at the University of East Anglia). Radha often works from home, making housesitting the perfect way to live, as she will have lots of time to spend with pets, and ensure that the home is well looked after.
