Hello there
Entrusting your precious animals and home to a stranger is a difficult thing. I know, because I use housesitters regularly. You want them to care for your home and garden like it is their own and love your pets as much as you do. As a house proud animal lover, I can assure you that I would do just that. With two cats, two dogs, three horses, four cows and three camels, my husband and I have quite a menagerie at home. Our cats are the most spoilt cats in the world and I am sure our dogs would have to be some of the happiest dogs around. Our horses, camels and cows seem very content with their lot in life as well and we love them all dearly.
I understand that with house sitting comes great responsibility. I take great pride in my home and garden and would do likewise with yours. I do love to potter in gardens and will ensure no plant will wilt on my watch. My husband is also a handy fellow to have around, coming from a farming background, he is very good at maintaining yards and paddocks and fixing things when needed. He also is very caring with animals and makes an excellent nurse, if any animal should fall ill. Even though my husband is a business manager, animals and farming is in his blood. He is also excellent at pool care as we have our own pool at home that we maintain ourselves.
Housesitting interests us as we both have a love of travel and adventure. When we do travel, we love to really get to know a place and it’s people and I think a house sit is a good way to do this.
My love for travel has even become my new career. I spent many years as a high school teacher, teaching English and Humanities. I then left teaching to work with refugees as a counsellor and to teach English as a second language. I have also dabbled in some academic work with Universities. And now I find myself as a travel specialist, creating bespoke itineraries for those wishing to visit Australia, New Zealand and the Paciific Islands. A total career change, which I am loving, and feeding my passion for travel.
Although we have never officially housesat before, we are regularly asked to care for our neighbours’ animals and garden when they are away and have been doing so for years. Now that our two boys are older, we are getting to that stage in our lives where we are able and ready to take on housesitting jobs all over the world.
I do hope you entrust myself and my husband with your home and animals. I can assure you your animals will be loved and cared for, as will your home and garden.
