Hello and thanks for checking us out. We are Carl and Carol, retired but active & young at heart. While we don’t have pets anymore because of our love of travel, we do have lots of experience caring for the pet family we managed to acquire over the years: everything from turtles, small birds, 2 cats, 6 dogs, goldfish, gerbils, hamsters, etc.. Dogs & cats are our favorite so if you have furry family members that need looking after while you’re away, please give us a call. We’ll soak up all their love (purrs and tail wags) and return them to you, healthy and happy to see you on your return. Besides cuddles, we are also comfortable with bathing, giving medications and even injections or wound care if required.
If home-sitting is what you require, we have owned & lovingly maintained various homes over the past 45 years with the skills we learned along the way. In addition, we have 10 years of property management experience so we're fairly comfortable trouble-shooting most problems that can arise.
We enjoy gardening, both indoors and out and keep our own home & gardens neat, clean and in good shape as we would do for yours. Right now, we are in the process of creating a small Zen garden which we are pretty excited about.
We are widely travelled, having been to India, Africa, SE Asia, Europe & the UK, North America/Mexico and the Caribbean to name a few, so we are not intimidated to find our way in unfamiliar locales and cultures. In fact, our favorite travels now are those that allow us to settle into a new community &/or culture for an extended stay and really savor the local flavors. And, we love to cook which is yet another reason we love to walk. Perhaps you have a pooch that would like to join us in our happy wanderings?
We are regular walkers, Carl having completed both the Inca and Camino walks while I have opted for the easier Irish walks such as the Giants Causeway and Gap of Dunloe. We are both doubly vaccinated and have had our third boosters. We are otherwise healthy (both of us are non-smokers) and active with no physical limitations so we’d be able to care for your home and your pet(s) without issue.
We are a trustworthy couple, each of us having worked in professions where regular security screening was a must; Carl in border security and myself as a Registered Nurse.
We do like to maintain contact while you’re away so that we can know your preferences in any given situation.
Our experience with Homecarers has been limited so far as we were just getting started (a one-month stay on Orcas Island in Oct and another of shorter duration here in our hometown) when Covid hit us all. Both parties were very happy with their results and gave us great references which we are happy to share with interested parties.
