House sitting to me is a means to travel the world and experience new people, places, pets, and plants. I am a partial digital nomad, spending most days writing scientific experiments/protocols for astronauts aboard the International Space Station from my laptop. House sitting provides for a productive work environment for me and I enjoy learning in new atmospheres where I can do chores for others or get to care for new plants/animal care. I consider myself to be handy with small repairs and can handle household related emergencies that may arise.
Throughout my life I have enjoyed many roles and experiences serving others that I believe translates well to house sitting. I've been a WWOOFer (World Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms) on properties as large as 200 acres, a counselor for teen wilderness camps, a small animal veterinary technician, a STEM teacher/advocate, a kayak guide in the Pacific Northwest, a civil servant for funding/managing research that saves lives, and now serving researchers that are conducting science in space.
