I am one half of a couple that can be described as enthusiastic and hardworking. In our everyday lives, I'm an art history professor and PhD student and my partner is a modern-day Renaissance man: an artist, a manager, a freelance handyman, and a woodworker. This year, we have an exciting opportunity for a one-year sabbatical. During this time our plan is to travel around, providing me with the space and inspiration to work on my dissertation.
My wonderfully supportive partner will take care of the day to day obligations to allow me to write this magnum opus. He has a diverse skill set when it comes to caring for homes and animals. He grew up in a rural town, feeding and caring for goats and sheep and maintaining their enclosures. In recent years, he has watched over the homes of numerous families, working with dogs, cats, horses, and chickens, while also performing yard maintenance and administrative tasks for the homeowners. And some of these instances, the animals have been elderly and/or ill. His work with animals from a young age has created within him an understanding of their behavior, the ability to anticipate their needs, and a genuine appreciation for all the ways that they enrich our lives.
We are a well-traveled couple who have seen 23 countries between us. We are both fluent in English; my partner is fluent in Spanish, while I am semi-fluent. I can also read German and French. We are two responsible and trustworthy people who can be flexible to your needs and attentive to that which you hold most dear: your home and your pets.
