**PLEASE READ: I am NOT currently seeking house-sitting opportunities. I am booked for a winter-long house and pet sit on Vancouver Island from the end of October until early May 2025**

I live in Alberta, and I'm retired. I have house-sat nine times before and loved it! I am very interested in house sitting and pet sitting again. I am very quiet, mature, and responsible, and I will treat your home as if it were my own. My references can attest to that!

I am ONLY interested in urban house sits in locations within walking distance of standard amenities or where bus service is available, or where the homeowner will allow me to drive their car. During the winter months I strongly prefer housesits on the BC coast or on Vancouver Island to escape harsh Alberta winters.

I am a non-smoker, non-drinker, and I don't do drugs.

Willing to water house plants, take care of pets, including cats, dogs, and guinea pigs, collect the mail and put out the trash bins.

I truly enjoy looking after people's homes and pets and exploring new places!

I have house-sat nine times, and I have lots of 5-star refererences. Not all of these sits were with this site. I am happy to send you all references and reviews.

Although my references mention my son and me, he only accompanied me on the first two sits.

I am 71. Someone else must do manual labor jobs like cutting the grass and shoveling the snow. I'm happy to pay for these services if necessary. Otherwise, I don't have problems with mobility.

I grew up the child of a Diplomat who was transferred from country to country every few years. Then I joined the Military and also married a Military man. We were transferred from province to province every few years. I love new things, new places, and new experiences. Moving from place to place keeps life exciting.

I enjoy going for long walks every day. My hobbies are reading and genealogical research. I have lots of experience with flower and vegetable gardens.

We would highly recommend Gail to look after your home while you are away! She looked after our many plants and gardens. Our house was cleaner when we got home that when we left. We had such a wonderful holiday knowing that our home and gardens were being so well looked after! The mail was collected and the garbage and recycling were put out on collection days. Gail was very detail-oriented. The bird feeders were kept full and the bird baths were kept clean and filled with fresh water daily. It was over 30C while we were away and the gardens were watered multiple times a day and beautiful when we got home.

Gail sent us periodic updates and photos of our gardens!
