Hello!
I am looking for a house-sitter to watch over my 3 dogs and ensure my plants are waterered (they are on a drip system, but need to be on the lookout for leaks!). My dogs are fairly low maintenance: Jackson (large lab, 12 years old), Jake (mutt, 20 lbs, 8 years old) and Bert (terrier mix, 13 lbs,8 years old). They will need two walks a day (they all walk at the same time, very calmly together): one early morning and one late evening...and lots of cuddles during the day. I have a walled-in large backyard they wander freely around.
SPECIAL NOTE: Tucson in the summer can be very hot. It is important to be comfortable doing inside activities. It is not a good idea to exercise or do outdoor activities during mid-day. Temperatures in July will be 100+.
My home is a 3-bedroom, 2 bath, great kitchen, laundry, front room for reading, family room for TV. It is well-insulated and very cool and comfortable (with a/c). I have a large shaded backyard with a raised garden with a lovely dipping pool (I call it a 'spool'). In the winter I use it as a hot tub, but in the summer it is a delightful 'dipping pool' The front part of the spool is 5-feet deep, so you have plenty of room to cool off! I have an outdoor grill with lots of comfortable patio furniture and large dining table.
The summer evenings can be spectacular. There is a great deal of wonderful outdoor dining and outdoor activities around town in the evenings. My home is one block from one of Tucson's lovliest small parks.
I am also located one block from the city-wide bike path, 20-min walk to the University of Arizona (bookstore, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.), and a 45-minute leisurely walk to downtown Tucson. The Loft Cinema (independent movie house) is a five-minute walk from my home. There is a wonderful neighborhood market/restaurant FLORA'S within a ten-minute walk from my home (Great coffee, full bar, very yummy food). Bookman's (a well stocked used bookstore) is a ten minute walk from my home. Downtown Tucson is an easy fifteen-minute bike ride (there is a bicycle rental kiosk one block from my house, next to Himmel Park Public Library.)
Tucson is a unique city with some of the best Mexican food in the U.S! World-class Sonoran Desert Museum (80% outdoor zoo and museum) and a solid local music and theater scene.
My home has good wi-fi, Netflix, Prime Video and AppleTV.
This is my first time using a housesitter that is not a personal friend. I am flexible to have a single person or a couple.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!
