My husband and I have lived with pets for more than forty years - first parakeets, then cats, and now a dog. We are attentive, responsible adults who have always loved traveling.
I am a retired award winning documentary film/video editor with a forty year career - first freelance, then at the television networks. My husband was a manufacturer's representative, but whose passion has always been music. He is a percussionist - bongoes and conga drums - and played regularly with a jazz group when we lived in New York.
We've traveled extensively - Spain, France, England, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Denmark, Czech Republic...and even did a nine day trip down the Colorado River for our honeymoon 47 years ago! We'd done house exchanges in Spain, France, and Israel when we lived in Manhattan.
We've now settled in the mountains of western North Carolina - in the beautiful, exciting town of Asheville. We're conveniently located an easy 15 minute drive to downtown, and our 3 bedroom house is filled with light and views of the mountains. We have a lovely back porch and a small backyard (where I have raised beds with flowers and vegetables in season). I "gardened" on our balcony overlooking Central Park when we lived the NY, but having this yard is just the best.
After a succession of budgies for twenty years, we then had cats for twenty four years. Now we have Lola, a sweet five year old beagle/hound mix who we rescued last June. She is a delight!
