Pleased to meet you! Thirty years ago I earned a degree in commercial photography in Atlanta and opened my business. Eventually I moved the business to my hometown in FL near my Mom to share our lives and care for her when the time came.
I have enjoyed my career, especially my ability to work independently and take interesting jobs around the country and world. My commercial work spans many worldwide companies, Universities and ad agencies. My enthusiasm and engaging personality (definitely spills over to the Animal Kingdom) added weddings, family portraits, Pets on location renting antebellum homes several times a year and even surfing events for magazines including the Surfing X-Games! I am now going through years of images putting together a body of fine art to show!
Outside of photography, I have contributed to volunteer work with American Cancer Society, Atlanta Special Olympics and Small Business Administration.
Grace's Birthday Party at Ashford Manor near Athens GA was my favorite fundraiser. It evolved into an annual fundraiser saving the lives of many beloved pets! Graces’s Party provided economically challenged families with the funds needed to cover surgery through UGA Vet College! I love pets of all kinds, and for many years had an amazing experience setting up the Portrait Photo Salon Fundraiser, Promoting this event and helping design the sets for the Photo Salon which I also worked in as a photographer. The sets were only for the pets and ranged from a disco to a formal living room!
I am a self-motivated, proactive person who loves new experiences and meeting new people! I am excited to start this new journey as a house/petsitter. I have been a homeowner for many years, and know the ins-and-outs of property management, maintenance, and contracting. I am very communicative, and will contact you immediately if a problem or question should arise involving your pets or home. I fully understand how fast a small issue with a home can escalate to costly damage.
Throughout my life I have had many pets as family members! Tina a German/Belgian mix was my first! The black and white picture showing my Mom with Tina in her lap was taken the day Tina joined our family! The excited toddler twirling about in the white dress is me! We added two Siamese cats , Jeanie-o and Mini, a couple years later. A double yellow head parrot, Cutter (the butter head) was a family member as well.
Boa, the gorgeous Shepherd found my children at the Grandparents farm when we lived in GA! She was abandoned and had several health issues, very bad manners and habits not to mention her destain for cats!
She stole our hearts instantly and became our gargoyle until my children went to college. Unfortunately she became ill and losing her was devastating so I am still not ready to adopt. In the meantime I hope to shower many other pets with attention and love through this opportunity!
