About Us
We've been married 27 years, lived 24 years in Arizona, and we're dual US - Canadian citizens. We recently relocated from Vancouver, BC, to Calgary, AB, to be closer to family. While we're looking forward to getting reacquainted with Calgary, we're going to really miss the West Coast winters!
We lost our last Canine Companion (a rescue mutt named Pi) three years ago. After having pets our entire adult lives, we thought we would take a couple of years off to travel without worrying about our furbabies ... then COVID hit! Now, we're in a position to take longer trips while working remotely and we're eager to try house-sitting as an alternative to "vacations" before we commit to another puppy.
If your furbabies need extra care due to medical conditions, we can handle it! We've had a diabetic cat, a dog with Cushing's disease, one with cancer, and one with hip dysplasia. We know how to measure the meds, do the shots, and bribe the pills down!
We're outdoorsy -- love camping, hiking, daily walks, and generally being outside. We also love to garden, cook, watch British murder mysteries, read books, listen to music, and explore our surroundings. We're handy, too! We've owned half a dozen houses and renovated all of them to some degree or other on our own, so we can handle routine maintenance and home system hiccups. We have excellent reviews from recent hosts, so you can rest assured we know how to act in other people's homes.
Pamela is an attorney, working remotely half-time. With the rest of her time, she writes a soft-boiled murder mystery series under the name PJ Donison.
Brian is a recently retired software QA engineer, who is now the VP of Everything Technical for Pamela's writing efforts. He's also studying Spanish.
Our goals are:
-- Give you a carefree travel experience knowing your home and pets are well cared for.
-- Communicate as frequently (or not) as you need to feel confident.
-- Enjoy a comfortable "home away from home" to work, write, relax, and explore.
-- Meet new people and maybe even make some new friends along the way.
NOTE: We've seen some wonderful opportunities come along, but unfortunately too late for us to plan around. We are now looking ahead to Jan for a 90-day(ish) assignment, but we must lock down terms by July 31, 2023, in order to arrange travel. We look forward to meeting you!
