I have been a homeowner for years and grew up at summer cottages in Canada. I do enjoy managing a property. I usually do most things myself but if I can't, I am very resourceful and always find solutions.
I have pet sat for friends and family many times over the years and enjoy it immensely.
I currently have a 10 year old Havanese and recently said goodbye to my cat of 15 years.
I enjoy my many hobbies and puttering around the house and garden. Peace is my most appreciated state, after years spent working very hard overseas.
I am a retired professional international commercial negotiator. I worked and lived overseas on 3-4 year international assignments for 30 years prior to my retirement in 2011. I am a Canadian citizen awaiting an Australian Permanent Residency application to be processed.
Why I want to house sit
Since I have worked and lived all over the world (UK, Trinidad, Tunisia, Egypt, Australia) I understand how to get on wherever I find myself.
My current temporary Australian visa requires that I leave Australia for 6 months in any 18 months. I have always wanted to try housesitting instead of travelling and/or staying in hotels on my own. House sitting perfectly suits my current situation until my permanent residency processes over the next couple of years.
I was raised with dogs and cats and have always had them with me wherever I have lived. I like the routine of daily walks and caring for a loved pet, as someone who has lived on their own for many years.
