We are a quiet, non-smoking, long time retired couple from the UK, who moved to Sydney in 2008 and will be returning there in Feb 2024 following a year's sabbatical in NZ. We have enjoyed very many house exchanges worldwide since our children were small. There are several ex-exchangers in Sydney who have become friends, who would be happy to talk to you, should you wish to contact them for references etc. We are very respectful of other peoples' homes and property. House sitting experiences have included looking after dogs, cats, chickens, one quiet horse, one very large pig, and, on one memorable occasion, more than 140 guinea pigs! We were guide dog boarders for several years, providing respite for dogs in training, or working dogs whose owners werent able to be with them for various reasons.
Being very experienced at swapping homes, we are fully aware of the need to treat your home with discretion, respect, responsibility and care while you are away, and any pets with as much love and affection as we showed our own in the past. There is one proviso, however - we don't like to have animals in the bedroom, so if your cat or dog (or any other pet!) normally sleeps with you and might be upseet at teh change, then we may not be the perfect house sitters for you! However, we can offer you peace of mind and total security.

As non-smokers ourselves, we would only consider house-sitting for the same, please, and would appreciate some photos of your home with any requests to house sit, thank you, if none are provided with your listing.
Finally, we are sometimes asked if we charge for house sitting. We do not charge for normal house sitting duties, as we see this as a mutually beneficial arrangement, based on trust.
