One of our Favorite House sits!

We were fortunate to enjoy a month-long house sit in Anacortes, Washington. Andrea, Greg and their two dogs greeted us with a friendly welcome. We shared a lovely dinner together the night before they left. Their home is lovely with views of the water and the dogs are very sweet and easy to care for. If you have the chance to house sit here, you will be glad you did.

Simon and Diana just left our home after a 30 day stay looking after the house and our two dogs.  They left the house spotless and our dogs were clearly well taken care of, too.  We would gladly have them come and stay in our home again.  It was a great experience.  Thank you Simon and Diana!

Linda and Ken, thank you for house sitting our home. When we arrived home our lawns were mowed and gardens put to bed. Tomatoes were frozen and soup ready for our return home.

They also embraced our town by joining a hiking group, using our swimming pool, shopping in our Platzl and playing golf in one of our local courses.

Great time had in Kimberley

We spent a month looking after this house for Ken and Marg. This was a large remote property just a few kilometers out of Kimberley. It was very well equipped and while. We did spend our time hiking with a group, golfing and swimming in the municipal aquatic center. Owners were very welcoming and we would recommend them for future houesitting experiences.

Urban Perfection with Feline Companionship

I had a lovely time sitting for a long weekend. Before the trip, Francine and I spoke by phone and she e-mailed me complete instructions for pet and apartment. Upon arrival, I found the ideal apartment - smart, elegant, comfortable - and a friendly, easy cat. Francine's neighborhood is excellent: just a few steps from Washingotn Park and many historic sites. Francine and I kept in contact by text and phone. Everything went smoothly.  I enjoyed my time relaxing "en casa" as much as exploring Philadelphia. Thank you, Francine and Little One.

Marti was a wonderful sitter and we would not hesitate to have her back. She is reliable, responsible and dependable. She had suggested a zoom call prior to our leaving and she also arrived a bit earlier at our house which allowed us to chat and show her around.  By the time we left, we knew we were in good hands.  Marti is obviously an animal lover and our cat was well looked after.  She sent us a photo from time to time which was really appreciated and allowed us to relax and not worry about what was happening at home.  Marti obviously loves what she is doing and her enthusiasm is infectious. Our house was in perfect condition on our return.  As first-time users of the Housecarer site, we couln't have wished for a more outstanding experience.  We highly recommend Marti and will definitely contact her again in the future.

Carol and Carl are a lovely couple. They are charming, reliable and communication was great They came from Canada to France to look after our pets, 2 dogs and a cat and the animals loved them.

Karla was so patient in waiting to see if I would be able to find a local sitter. When I was unable and contacted her, we were unable to meet in person so we did a video call to show her around my place. That worked out well. She followed all of my instructions about my kitty and my apt and seemed to truly enjoy both which was so nice. She's a lovely and caring woman, who cares about all the details that make for a perfect sitter. Karla stayed in touch just the right amount and left my home exactly as she found it. I highly recommend her!

A Lovely Housesit, especially for a first-time sitter

This sit was a wonderful experience, especially for a first-time sitter.  The home is an apartment in a building in a great neighborhood in far northwest Philly.  A great cafe and a co-op grocery store are within easy walking distance.  

The building is secured with a touch pad code for residents, and has an old-fashioned but very usable elevator.  

Jim is a very experienced and generous homeowner host who provided clear and detailed instructions.  All the tools needed for the tasks of the sit, from cat food to litter to the plastic watering can for the plants, were accessible.   

The WiFi quality is good.  

Highly recommended.

Chuck and Mary offered to take care of our scaredy cat Oscar. Their reviews were numerous and very very good. We communicated across the months before the sit, and they remained flexible even when we thought we might have a hurricane.

We asked that they come the night before so that we could leave early the next morning. Whenever it was convenient was fine, but they asked us to give them a time, so we said around 5. They drove up at the stroke of 5, having already checked out the local areas. We enjoyed chatting with them over dinner, and I knew then that everything would be good while we were gone.

After we left, it got better and better. They sent us texts with pictures on how Oscar was doing. They took the time and effort to make him comfortable, and by the end of the week, they'd turned him into the lap kitty he loves to be. I think they also enjoyed the location, and stayed busy.

When we got home, the house was sparkling clean, the refrigerator cleaned out, Oscar happy, and even two hand knitted washcloths from Mary's tv time here. I cannot imagine having better, more generous caretakers of our cat and our home. Although they live quite far away, and although they do this work in order to travel to new places, I am still holding out hope that I might persuade them to come back again some time.

In summary, I highly recommend this couple, and suggest that you sign them up right away if you get the chance. Flo and Joe 

Wonderful Housesitters!

Lynda and John came a day early to meet me and Sascha and we hit it off immediately.  I went through the house with them and instructions for taking care of her.  Every day she would send me a picture of Sascha in various poses and would let me know how she was doing.  I felt so comfortable leaving my home in their care (which I had never done before) and my kitty that I went off on my trip without a worry.  When I returned, the house was in perfect condition and Sascha was happy - actually I think she missed them for a few days!   I highly recommend Lynda and John for any house/pet sits and I hope they'll be able to return to my house again when I travel.  They are a wonderful couple!

Since the first house sit, Lynda and John returned while I went off to Sicily and once again, my kitty was loved and taken care of.  I was so fortunate to find Lynda and John.  Highly recommend them.

Charming NC Hosts - Highly Recommended

Flo and Joe had us arrive the night before their departure and prepared a delightful hors d'oeuvre and dinner for us as a "meet and greet" gesture.  This was more than we expected, but just their way of making us feel comfortable and appreciated.

Their waterfront property is post card beautiful, and made the stay most enjoyable.

Oscar the cat, is a bit nervous at first but eventually became a joy to be around.

We highly recommend this wonderful host couple and their property for anyone that wants to enjoy the North Carolina southern outerbanks area.

I miss Frisco

What a privilege, to take care of this adorable little cat, Frisco. Frisco lives in a nice big house with a nice view, well equipped for cooking. Frisco likes to play a lot and likes to receive her little treats. She knows very well, how to ask for them! ? If you ever have the opportunity to apply to go and keep Frisco, don't hesitate for a second. You will be delighted. Janice and Bill, the owners, are also very pleasant, generous and communicative hosts. Thank you for your trust and please donate a few treats for Frisco from me. ?

A reassuring experience

Tracie took great care of our house and 2 cats while we were on an extended trip.  She was considerate of each pets personality and took extra time to bond with them individually, making sure they were comfortable with her, which allowed us to trust that they were in good hands.

 I really appreciated her attention to detail, not only for our pets but with our house.  If any issue came up she would be in touch right away, and most often able to take care of things herself.   She oversaw the watering and care of several trees and shrubs that we had just put in and they are all healthy and happy, upon our return.  If we had any concerns she was always willing to address them and was a great communicator. She was also proactive in letting us know how things were going, via text, phone and email.  

 We were elated to come home to a house and pets that had been well cared for.   Tracie is a toughtful, careful and insightful housesitter.  We highly recommend her.

Lovely home, beautiful surroundings, best dog ever!

We had such a wonderful time on our long term house and pet sit in Laramie, WY.

Bridget and Jason were incredibly welcoming.  We immediately felt at ease and welcome in their beautiful home. They had cleared out a large amount of space for us in the closet and bathroom - a thoughtful touch that is appreciated. They also prepared a great guide on house and pet needs as well as recommendations on fun things to do in the area. We were able to communicate with them easily and even though they were on the other side of the world they were super responsive to any questions or concerns we had.

Our favorite part of the sit, by far, was Arlo! He is a sweetheart, a lovebug, and every other adorable adjective you can think of. We enjoyed our daily walks/hikes with him followed by lots of love being lavished (both directions). He loves his humans so much - not sure he realizes he's not one ;). So hard to say good bye but seeing him reunited with the people that love him even more than us was a treat.

Laramie is a fun little college town and the surrounding area is an outdoor dream. Hiking, biking, snow skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, whatever your interest it's nearby. 

We already miss our daily sunset viewing from the back deck with Arlo by our side. We truly enjoyed getting to experience this part of the world and would highly recommend to other sitters (of course only if we're not avaiable for a repeat visit)!

Time in Stockholm

Stefan's elderly cat Flocke was great company for my 2 month house-sit near Stockholm.  With so many great daytime places to explore, it was always nice to be welcomed home by a cat who has basically slept the day away!

Stefan was welcoming on my arrival and kept in touch regularly throughout my stay.  He provided a lovely, clean, well appointed apartment with everything one could hope for. His generosity was appreciated and made my stay such a great experience. Thanks for a great summer Stefan!

The BEST CAT LOVER

Suzanne stayed with our cat, Frisco, multiple times.  She loves on Frisco like she was a child. I know this because each time Suzanne arrives Frisco is happy to see her. Suzanne sends us notes and pictures on a regular basis.  She truly loves pets. She also does a good job with houseplants.  My plants looked healthier when I returned then before I left.

The best cat / ideal home

Loved this housesit!  I immediately felt comfortable with Beth and Dan.  We walked to town for dinner the night I met them.  They showed me around the neighborhood and told me about it.  

Their home is lovely and comfortable.  I ate all my meals on the front porch, and relaxed in the evenings on the back porch.  Cinder, their adorable kitty, and I cuddled up in Beth's 'office' every evening after dark while I enjoyed her books.  I walked daily in the neighborhood or, more often, drove short distances to the 14 great hikes I completed in my three-week stay.  

Beth provided thorough information and instructions concerning their home, Cinder, and suggestions for restaurants and hikes.  Beth and Dan were generous in sharing their pantry and refrigerator contents, and Beth had even baked me a loaf of bread!  They have a bountiful garden which provided fresh vegetables and herbs for all of my meals - squash, eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers galore!

Cinder is affectionate and low-maintenance.  I so enjoyed her!

I highly recommend Beth, Dan, Cinder, the house, the neighborhood, the location, the experience!  My stay was relaxing, yet invigorating!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the experience I had watching George, Harry and Edward.

Sarah and Russ made me feel instantly at home and showed me the ropes of the 3 dog challenge and their walking routes. The dogs also made me feel instantly at home too.

We had some adventures along the way and I got to stay on to visit Wisley Gardens, Jane Austen's home in Chawton and her brother's estate. Wonderful pubs in the area too.

Sarah and Russ were so accomodating and welcoming. They went out of their way to make my first overseas dog sitting experience memorable and special. 

Patti_and_Jack are Persistent!

For a reason known only to the canine gods, my Bernese Mountain Dog decided to go on walking strike!  However, knowing that exercise was to be on her agenda, Patti and Jack were persisitent in their efforts to overcome the stubborn streak.  They kept me regularly informed of the progress and the elation over success.  I returned after 2 weeks to a happy dog and a very clean house.  I recommend this very experienced couple.

Great house/dog sitters

We could not have asked for a better couple to take care of our dog and our home while we were away for 3 weeks.

Mary and Bob were so nice and did such a wonderful job taking care of our senior rescue dog.  She was happy and healthy and wanted for nothing.  Our house was spotless when we came home and we thank them for making our vacation worry-free.

we would love to have them sit for us every time we go away but we know that won't be possibLe as they are surely in high demand.  If they choose to take care of your pet you can consider yourself lucky.  Highly recommend.

Her home is clean and tidy, both of her cats are sweethearts, her yard is beautiful, she lives in a nice neighborhood and a gorgeous area of the country. Great house and pet sitter!

Ron and Judy were super fast to respond to our advertisement and communicated very well with us during the process. This was our first time having a house/pet sitter, so we really didn't know what to expect. They took great care of our home, pets, and car while we were gone. We received wonderful photo updates of their stay. They organized my linen closet for me! They also rescued a little bunny that had fallen in our basement window well. Ron and Judy were lovely to work with and I'd have them back to our home anytime. 

Sweet dog and easy care cats; beautiful home

We had a wonderful stay in Prescott with Saber, a handsome, friendly dog, and two cats, Willow and Grizzly. Saber was very easy to care for but he is energetic and needs regular walks. As long as he gets daily exercise, he was very chill. He also has a large yard to run around in. The kitties were sweet, very shy. They really required easy, minimal care. The large home is beautiful, in a lovely quiet neighborhood right on the edge of Prescott National Forest with many hiking trails nearby. The owner was terrific, great communication. We definitely would recommend this pet sit!

Wonderful New York Hosts

We met Chana and Harold, and their well-behaved cat Solly, in the late afternoon on the same day they left on their trip.  They are a most cordial and generous couple who made us feel comfortable and at ease as soon as we met.

Their beautiful country home is located in a great neighborhood very close to Brewster, NY.  The property both inside and outside is superb.  We especially enjoyed the large decks and pool area.  Solly was a real character and fun to be around.  He's a good lap kitty, and very affectionate.  

Also, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys that visited the yard.

We definitely recommend Chana and Harold's place if you want to experience a great stay in rural New York.

Beautiful Urban Garden!

Rhoda was very good prior to the house sit in showing me around her garden and indoor plants.  She left detailed instructions with pictures. While she was on vacation, she was very responsive to any questions I had and made me feel like my efforts were appreciated.  

She has a beautiful home and garden that I was lucky to care for in her absence!

It was not the usual housesit, as Cathy lives so close to us, she didn't actually stay over!  I really just needed someone to care for and water my ridiculous number of potted outside plants, so she visited 2 -3 times a week, depending on the temperatures.   She also checked the inside plants, brought in mail and packages, and sent messages after every visit.  When we returned home, all the plants were thriving!

Cathy is friendly and personable.  She did what she she said she would and I felt confident I had left the house and garden in good hands.  I would ask her to "garden sit" for me again, if she is interested.  I'll ask her, too, when we get our new kittens this fall!  I strongly recommend her for others looking for a reliable house sitter.

Sweet Dog!

Our house-sit at KBell was wonderful!  Miss Em is very easily pleased and content to be fed and loved up.

The home owners are lovely people.  Very comfortable lovely home.  There is a great lanai to relax in and even watch a little TV.  The community has several great pools and a gym we  took advantage of.  Many activities are offered to keep busy.  We would highly recommend a stay with Miss Em!
