Housesit near Rome
We will be away from mid - December 2019 until end February 2020 and are actively looking for house sitters available during that period.
We live in a beautiful part of Lazio just over an hour north west of Rome. The area has many classic medieval walled Italian villages, there are lakes close by, thermal areas, and the ocean is half an hour away.
Our house is a traditional Italian villa set within a national park and overlooking medieval ruins. It has all amenities. There is a self-contained appartment downstairs. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a large lounge room, studio and kitchen upstairs, all with high vaulted ceilings. Heating is by gas and wood stoves as well as a fireplace. It is set in two hectares and has a large garden.
We have two dogs, a large Maremano-St Bernard cross and a Maremano, as well as six cats. All animals live outside. Duties include feeding the animals, keeping an eye on the place and being here every evening.
Our nearest village, Canale Monterano is 3 kilometres away and boasts the BEST bakery in the world! All other shopping needs can be achieved there as well.
Trains leave from Manziana (5 kilometres away) every hour for Rome - it is about a one hour trip and only costs a little over 3 Euro.
It would be difficult to be here without a car, but we can possibly provide one. We also have a scooter and 3 bikes for those who feel so inclined.
Please see the Photo Gallery for a better idea of our home and pets.
