I’m looking for a dog sitter for Holmes, our 12 years old spunky dog. We’re going to Melbourne for 16 days (May 13 to May 29), and our regular dog sitter may be unavailable to take care of Holmes. If you know someone (or if you are that person) who would like: 1. to have a reason to go for walks in the morning, and afternoon 2. to know what it’s like to have someone who’s happy you’re at home 3. to feel protected in their home ( he’s got a good bark, but won’t really do anything other that to let you know someone is up the driveway) 4. a dog to be a friend to their kids 5. a dog that isn’t demanding (he won’t bug you to throw that ball. He’s a curl up in a little ball and fall asleep at your feet while you’re typing away at the computer. 6. a dog for company for their own dog.
Even if the person can only take care of him for a week, that’s okay. We can find someone who can do the other week, or we can put him jail (opps, I meant dog kennel). Of course, dog food, dog toys, dog rug all come with Holmes… Negotiation over price, if Holmes isn’t enough of a prize, can be done. We’d prefer if someone had dog experience, but Holmes knows all the command… some would say he understands English! We’ve already left him with a person who had a cat, but I’m not sure the cat appreciated another furry body in the house. He gets on with other dogs.
