Hello House Sitters,
We have a house sitting vacancy suitable for a retired couple from the 13thMarch until the approximately the 25th March 2013.
We are located in North Queensland some seven kilometres from Proserpine which is about 120 kilometres north of Mackay. Our property is on a mountain, some five acres in size and consists of vine rainforest except for the house and a small area around it. Because our locality has no public transport you would be required to have your own vehicle.
The house-sit would suit a couple who have an understanding of native wildlife. Our property is the home of the endangered Proserpine Rock Wallaby. Another wallaby that is also found here is the Red Legged Pademelon. There are a numerous amount of wild bird life with a few of these been endangered. You would also be required to have an understanding of a tank water supply, septic systems and the use of a back up generator, these are a must.
This sit would not be suitable for people who smoke, those travelling in caravans or large mobile homes and people who do not have an understanding of our tropical weather i.e. it can rain for days.
While we are away we would like the sitter to keep birdbaths clean and filled, substance feeding of native birds morning and afternoon and to monitor the wallabys at dusk. Also to water plants when necessary and generally keep the house clean and tidy. We do not have any domestic pets.
We would also require you to have previous house sitting references.
For those who this appeals to we look forward to hearing from you.
