Small town charm with New England (and NYC) attractions easy day-trips away. Small, modest, but comfortable home in quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, within walking distance to Lake Pocotopaug, stores and restaurants. Cable and high speed wifi. Young greyhound (rescued from the race track), and Sheltie (older, arthritic, deaf - acquired from lady with Alzheimer's) need someone to go on 2x daily walks, but separately, because, believe me, they walk at different speeds. Sheltie around the yard, greyhound a few miles in the early morning, but only about a mile in the late afternoon (gorgeous, contemplative forest and small town walks). Both are friendly once they get to know you - greyhound shy of men and large dogs (life on the race track must have been tough for her). Indoor cats, all domesticated strays, like to snuggle - one is ours and two are our son's who is now deployed to Afghanistan. Cockatiel, found in a dumpster, politely whistles "thank you" when put to rest for the night, needs someone to sing with. Water plants when needed. Take trash and recyclables to curb. Otherwise go see the sights or relax. Will also need a house/pet sitter June , 2013.
