Our home is located in a Mexican village on Lake Chapala. This is one of the largest ex- pat communities in Mexico and is reported to have the second best climate in the world. We love this safe little village with lots of art galleries and wonderful restaurants. If you want to practice your spanish, fine. But it's not necessary to speak much spanish here as english is widely spoken and understood. If you're active, this is a wonderful time of year for hiking in the mountains. There is a golf course nearby with very reasonable green fees. During the winter, we usually wear shorts and tees in the days, but need to add some layers for the evenings. We have four dogs, all old and mellow. The "baby" is at least 9 years old and our oldest is 12. The dogs get plenty of exercise in the large yard, but three of the four do enjoy short walks. Our maid visits once a week to keep the house tidy and our gardener tends to the yard. You just need to feed the dogs twice a day and enjoy our beautiful pueblo.
We are looking for a non-smoker! Our home is just a short walk to the village where you can finds plenty of shops and restaurants so a car is not necessary. We're near the bus line if you'd like to go into Chapala or Guadalajara.
