We live on 13 acres where we have 11 head of cattle which require little care, mainly keeping an eye on their water and the fence.
We will need someone with farm experience including being familiar/able to repair fence if necessary and possibly pumping water from the creek. Nothing difficult but sitter definitely needs to have the appropriate skills and physical abilities.
We have a 3 year old Rottweiler that doesn't know he is adopted which will be the 'high maintenance' animal needing care as in his mind he is the center of the universe and of course, like most parents, we have over indulged this illusion.
Next on the 'needing care' list is Gary the cat who thinks he is a dog. Gary and Sarah (4 year old siblings that fight like a cat and dog at times) come and go throughout the day. The cats are allowed to come inside during the daytime but aren’t house trained so they must sleep outside at night. However, the Rottweiler goes between the couch and under our bed as he doesn't know he is a dog and wouldn't dream of sleeping outside!
The house is simple as it is just a small shed house but you wake up to the most amazing views of the Atherton Tablelands which is why we love it.
