We need a housesitter as soon as possible until the end of July. Our current housesitter left early and our doggie is there all alone. We have a wonderful, unique jungle home on the Sierpe River, gateway to the Osa Peninsula. Boat access to the ocean and Cano Island for diving, snorkeling and world class fishing. On the river you can catch snook and pargo (snapper), kayak, canoe, bird watch, see monkeys (squirrel, howler, white face capuchin) and explore the magical mangroves.
Our home is a 2 bedroom/2 bath, large great room and kitchen. Very large back patio. City water and electricity we will pay for. If you want internet it would be $30 a month and we have a cell phone for your use; you will need to purchase minutes as you use up.
The entire property acres) has fruit trees/plants (mango, star fruit, plaintain, banana, water apples (mamones), papaya, pineapple, lemon and avocado, palm trees and lovely shade trees. Large garden area (presently not being utilized) where we have grown tomatos, watermelon, green beans, zuchinni, etc. Toucans regularly visit the property to enjoy our many papaya trees. We have approx. 40 plaintain trees, 4 banana trees, 10 pineapple plants, and 25 papaya trees.
Truly a jungle paradise. Very quiet, away from the village and noise but only 5-8 minutes by boat to town or minutes to ocean (depending on which boca you navigate to) and world class fishing. Also road access to home although not always navigatible in the rainy season.
We have a mutt dog who loves anyone who pays attention to him. His name is Pinto.
I do want to mention that we have a 9 hp boat motor for your use but you will need to rent a boat. We can help arrange that and it would be around $100 a month. Getting to our property by boat is MUCH easier than by vehicle. We will renegotiate and possibility of free if you caretake the neighbors property also (just watching).
We would like someone who is adventuresome and doesn't mind being semi-remote. You must be able to lift the 9 hp motor from the boat (approx 70 lbs.) and wheel it and the gas can up to the bodega in the wheelbarrow when not in use. We would need you to prune the trees and plants of dead branches and keep things trimmed and neat. We have a gardener come to weed whack the yard so you would not need to do that.
