Mature, non-smoking couple who will enjoy spending time playing catch, walking and taking great care of aour two small dogs. Spunky is a 10 year-old Cairn Terrier (think Toto from the Wizard of Oz). Mulligan is our sweet three-year-old Cocker Spaniel who I always describe as a “ball of happy”. They are “our boys” that we absolutely adore!
We are a couple who retired in our mid-50s, so our two “fur kids” are accustomed to having us around the house quite a bit (the reason they are so spoiled). Of course we do leave them to take their naps while we are on the golf course, at the fitness center, shopping at the outlets or mall and going to dinners and shows or movies with good friends.
Our comfortable retirement home is located in a golf course community on property that backs up to a pond. It is a single-family home with three bedrooms and two full baths. One bath features an oversize whirlpool tub. We also have large flat-screen television in the family room. Our screened porch provides the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee while watching the golfers and a variety of water fowl and birds that visit both the pond and our feeders. It can also be a great spot for reading a book or watching the wall-mounted tv on a nice day. There is also a large uncovered patio.
The climate in our area can be variable in November/December with some days comfortably warm enough for golfing or walking the beautiful beach. Our home is located about 15 minutes from North Myrtle Beach/Little River. High temperatures are typically in the 60s, but have sometimes been warmer. We have found that the weather every Fall is different than the last during the ten years since we relocated from Northern Virginia.
Golf courses abound for every level of player from mini-golf to Par 3 to longer courses for more accomplished players. Local theater venues such as Alabama Theater and Carolina Opry begin performing holiday versions of their shows in November and we have enjoyed watching these talented entertainers since moving to the area. Hundreds of restaurants up and down the “Grand Strand” serve every imaginable type of food and beverage. Another fun way to spend time is visiting our large shopping/entertainment complexes at Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach and Market Common. And, of course there is the beautiful beach!!
During our time away from home we will be visiting Australia.
