We had a sitter booked but they changed plans on us, I realise this is quite short-notice.
We have a shortish sit starting late June till 9th July this year. We will actually be leaving on 25th June but think its fair to overlap some days in the lead up to allow our 2 dogs and the sitter to get to know each other.
We have a lovely modern comfortable house on five nice, quiet, green acres 15km north of Gympie. We have good broadband and reasonable NextG/3G mobile coverage. There will be a computer available for you to use and we also have internet TV (better than FOXTEL!) and a well stocked bookcase.
We have 12 pet sheep that require no care as they have excellent fencing, shelter, water and food. We also have 5 little hens that free range during the day and get safely locked in their tractor each night. There is an fish tank that will only require some granules daily for the four fish inside.
Then there are our beloved dogs. Bea, a 15 yo desexed female whippet x bull terrier who we bought when she was 16 weeks old as a rescue from the lost dogs home in Melbourne. For years she was very afraid of strangers but over time she has calmed right down and is a lovely easy happy girl and still very healthy. Then we have Dan, a 4 yo intact male Maremma (Italian sheepdog). A real character, big happy healthy boy but not boisterous, just hangs out with Bea mostly on the back deck where they love to be near us. Both these dogs enjoy people who are low key, easy, gentle and patient.
If someone thinks loudness or force is the way to treat an animal then it is likely Bea will cower fearfully and not obey, and Dan will object and stand his ground. They both are happy and well loved dogs so there should be no problems with a kind person. They both have their beds on the big back deck and meals are there as well. The have the free run of the whole property and get on well with the sheep and chooks.
We hope to hear from you, our phone number for a chat is or we can call you if you prefer.
Kind Regards Lisa and Scott Robertson
