One bedroom apartment available in a highly desirable, 100% safe neighborhood in the Bronx. Must provide loving care for a gentle, obedient dog.

Public Transportation: 25-60 minutes from midtown via the 2, 4, and D subways or Metro North.
Apt Details: Spacious one bedroom pre-war building, fully furnished, extremely quiet and well-kept. Bright and sunny with friendly neighbors. Couples and families are welcome (as are individuals), but non-smokers only, please.
Essential dog care: You will be responsible for caring for Riley, a loving and loveable 3-year-old setter/pointer mix.
Riley is extremely friendly, well-trained, and obedient. She gets along well with people of all ages, particularly children.
She must be walked at least 3x/day, no longer than 8 hours apart. The two "primary" walks (morning and late afternoon) must be at least 30 minutes each.
She is up-to-date with all vaccinations and has no medical needs or illnesses. I will provide tips and instructions regarding her care.
Most importantly, you MUST be committed to providing her the exercise and attention she needs. With walks of sufficient length, she will sleep most of the remaining time or play with her toys, and can easily be left alone without problems.
Riley never destroys personal items, bites, or misbehaves, but extreme care must be taken to ensure that food is out of her reach. She rarely barks, and is a genuinely loving companion who is easy to care for -- and she provides a great exercise partner!
Furnishings: Free wireless Internet, air conditioning, queen-sized bed, dishwasher, clothes washer (with classic NYC-style window-to-fire escape clothesline).
Location: Convenient to public transit; 1-3 blocks from restaurants, grocery, bakery, butcher, laundry, and pubs; the butcher prepares fresh, delicious meals each day for $8.50.
The apartment is 3 blocks from Van Cortlandt park and beautiful/historic Woodlawn Cemetary. Neighbors are extremely friendly and helpful: most are professionals working in Manhattan and/or recent immigrants from Ireland. I will provide a guide to the neighborhood, using public transportation, and NYC sightseeing tips.
Please have experience caring for dogs. I will be home for the first 4 days of your stay to help you get acquainted with the area and provide advice and information regarding Riley's care I will periodically check in via at times upon which we agree in advance.
Please provide references of past house-sitting homeowners or, if this is your first experience, individuals who know you well enough to describe your character.
