The only animal left on the "farm" is a cat, so pet-sitting duties are spare (2X/daily feedings, some cuddling).
Our quiet, rural home on a county-maintained road has bedrooms, patio, hot tub, piano, treadmill and a kitchen with all the equipment a gourmet cook would need.
The electric bill averages about $125/month. (We have a lot of gadgets; your bill may be less. The hot tub adds about $1/day). You'll have use of a well-maintained 2008 Prius with snow tires.
We'll also need a little help with some of the mail (getting tax forms to bank, etc.)
Our 10-acre homestead (deer, coyotes, lots of birds, even saw a bear this summer) is between two small towns (6 miles to one, 7 miles to the other), which probably have all you need, but Traverse City (20 miles away) has everything - a recently renovated art house movie theater, a thriving foodie scene, plays, concerts, malls, a comedy fest, coffee shops. This area is known for its recreation (XC skiing, downhill skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, Great Lakes beaches), its culture, its hipness and its beauty.
