Hi! I'm looking for a pet and house sitter for the period of June 3 to June 15, 2015.
It would be great if you could stop by already on the June 2nd so I could show you around!
My house is a little red cottage with a big fenced yard. The house is very basic but still has all you need to live comfortably (running hot water, shower and sauna, washing machine, full kitchen, tv, mobile internet... etc).
I have a dog and a cat. Your duties would include taking care of them, which basically means feeding, and walking the dog 2-3 times a day. The cat is an outdoor/indoor cat, so you'd have to let her out during the day and in again in the afternoon/evening. Both are very healthy, friendly and calm, the dog is easy to walk (doesn't pull in the lead).
Also, the deal would include cutting the lawn once or twice during the stay (takes about an hour) and watering the (few) plants if necessary. And I'd also expect you to clean after yourself; take out the trash, do the dishes, vacuum, etc. :)
The location is in a rural area, with only one close neighbour (elderly gentleman, speaks only Finnish), surrounded by forests. Due to this, I'd say this opportunity is best for 2 people (a couple, or a pair of friends, gay friendly). The place is ideal for someone who loves peace and quiet and nature, excellent hiking opportunities! Still close to shops (about 6km to the nearest mall with food stores, atm, post office, video rentals, restaurants and more) and about 20-min. drive to the city.
NO public transportation available!!! Preferable if you can arrange your own car, but we can agree about the use of my car as well.
The nearest airport is Tampere (a small one, might be hard to find good connections), the main airport in Helsinki is about 180km away.
Please let me know if you have any questions! In my opinion June is the best time of the year to be in Finland; the nights are light and the nature has just waken up after the long winter. The weather can still be cold, though, and it can rain a bit. But it may be hot too, that's the thing, you never know - it's Finland. :D
