We are looking for a responsible, caring couple (1-2 children would be OK) who love dogs, birding, gardening, semi-rural living; non-smokers (although smoking outdoors would be acceptable); and have maintenance skills (just in case). We are also looking for someone who does not require an income from house sitting. We have 2 active, young dogs (under 1 yr), so daily play time is important, as well as daily yard cleanup. Dogs are fed twice daily. Routine housekeeping of our 2 BR, 1 BA home with open air veranda kitchen (fully equipped). We have approximately 1/3 acre (1300sqm) of land with lots of plants. During the rainy season (April/May - December) there is not much needed for them. We have a contract with a man who does the yard (every other week) and pool (every week) maintenance. Notify us of any maintenance issues that may arise so that we can advise how to handle and/or who to contact. Our home is in a fairly new residential development (quasi-gated) catering to Panamanian business people and professionals who are building retirement homes. We are currently the only full-time residents, so it is a quiet area most of the time. We are located at a slight elevation above sea level and get nice breezes most of the time. We are a 10 minute drive from a couple of nice swimming and surfing beaches (including a surfing school). We are a 20 minute drive from the mountain community of El Valle de Anton with hiking and other outdoor activities. We have several local stores within a 5 minute drive. Major shopping, restaurants, and the Pacific beaches expat community of Coronado is a 20 minute drive. We have a pool. We have contracted help to take care of regular yard and pool maintenance. All utilities would be paid by us, unless the electricity bill would be over $50 (that would mean heavy A/C usage), then we would expect the house sitter to cover the overage. Cable internet access with WiFi. Satellite TV (mostly Spanish, but some English channels). We have an SUV available for use. Local buses are also available at the development entrance that can take you as far as Panama City (90 minute drive) if you like. If you enjoy birds, we've seen well over 50 different varieties here in less than a year.
