Hi! We are an "empty nest" couple with a spacious house on a quiet street in a suburban town near Boston. We are both in the arts, as are our grown kids, so the house is full of instruments and is super warm and comfy. We have a fenced yard, deck, and 2 big vegetable gardens in season. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and a wonderful kitchen in the open plan first floor.
Our pup is a sweet cuddly active 45 pound 5 year old female supermutt named Skye. She likes hanging out with people, long walks, playtime, naps, and lots of cuddles on the couches. She doesn't sleep in the bed, but has her own bed in our room.
She can have playdates with her doggie friends in our fenced yard, but she can be a bit reactive to dogs she doesn't know, so walks should be on leash, and she may need some emotional support when passing unknown dogs.
We are in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from shops and restaurants. Walking distance to cafes, Trader Joes, Walgreens, and Starbucks, and a 10 min walk to Arlington Heights with restaurants, shops, etc. We are very near a lovely bike path, 5 blocks to the Arlington Reservoir, and very close to the "Great Meadow" with lots of wooded trails.
This is a suburban location, and the closest MBTA station is a 10 minute drive - there are buses but they are irregular on evenings and weekends. Getting around Cambridge/Boston area is easiest with a car, or combo car/subway, using the Alewife MBTA station or a nearby bus depot.
We can discuss car use, and other aspects of the sit. We have used another site several times, and this one once, with wonderful successful sitter experiences!
