Come spend Christmas in southern Arizona. You will care for the nearly perfect dog (my personal opinion), my springer spaniel, two very entertaining cats and a horse and burro. My home is a wonderful and very comfortable Spanish-style, three bedroom, three bath on six acres. Incredible mountain views. Weather in December here will be chilly, probably in the sixties in the day and thirties-forties at night. Lots to do in this area: wineries, Tombstone, Bisbee, etc. Or just hang out on the patios and enjoy the mountain views. Great hiking right in my backyard or along the Arizona Trail.
