We need to take a sabbatical from our lives, which means we need someone (single or couple) to stay in our house and look after our one dog and two cats. Don't worry, the cats will (mostly) ignore you!
Our dog is mostly Labrador (F, spayed) with some Great Pyrenees in her - tall and slender at about 4 years old. She requires either one long walk a day or two shorter ones, and can easily be left alone the rest of the time. She is a licker - loves to lick you. She is very loyal as well and well leash trained. She is well socialized on and off leash and has many friends nearby.
Our house is around 2300 sq. ft. in a mature neighbourhood over 2 levels. Maintenance in the winter is light - get rid of some snow :) We have a snow blower though. New windows, new furnace and new water heater mean everything should be stress free. We are on a quiet cul de sac (no through traffic) just one block from Fish Creek Park - the largest urban park in Canada.
The Rocky Mountains are less than an hour away. In town we have the Olympic Park from the 1998 Winter Games where you can learn to ski and snowboard. Some of the best skiing in the land for intermediate to advanced is 90 minutes away at Sunshine and Banff.
We have a south facing (bright) kitchen with all appliances and a sunny nook. If the weather co-operates the deck is wrap around (large) and very sunny. Public transit is available in the neighbourhood.
Our basement is mostly unfinished but is a walk out and has a woodwork shop in it if you like.
Four months is a long time, but we can be a bit flexible on start or end times if you are interested in helping us out and exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains and living in one of Canada's fastest growing, youngest cities.
