We are an active, responsible, non-smoking retired couple. We own our own home and have both lived in our hometown all of our lives. Living in an older house we certainly know how things can go wrong, some of which we are able to repair ourselves and for others we can always call the repairman.
We are experienced house sitters. Duties have included checking mail, paying bills and when necessary we have called in workmen for major jobs and seen that they were carried out. We will also care for pets. References are available.
One of my hobbies is genealogy and the counties I have listed to house sit are ones that I have ancestors in. I have visited most of these counties but spent my time there in the courthouses and libraries doing research, not walking around to see what the town was like. I would like to have the time now to get to know the town or city a little better. House sitting seemed the perfect opportunity to have a place to stay for a longer period of time and help someone feel more comfortable about leaving their house or pet when they need to leave home for vacation or business. We would also enjoy sitting in other counties or states.
My other hobbies are painting – watercolor and collage but neither of these in your house because even though I like things neat and not messy sometimes collage and even watercolor can be at times. I could not do without reading or genealogy. We both enjoy line dancing and visiting interesting sites and historical areas. He also likes taking long walks.
We do like to leave a house clean and fresh for the home owner’s return.
