We are James and Jolene; we were working on the same movie when we first met and have been inseparable ever since. Aside from being professional filmmakers (over 70 movies collectively) we are seasoned travelers, artists, writers and photographers. We love going to new places and house sitting all over the world, and we are willing to accommodate the interview process as best we can, either in person, Internet or by phone. We are respectful, easy to get along with a high regard for nature and our surroundings. We have great references so you can be sure that your animals will be well-cared for, and your home well kept.
Life is better when you are experiencing it, and that is why we like house sitting. We enjoy the feeling of reciprocity and the authentic experience of a location that house sitting offers. It affords us the opportunity to see new places while also giving us the satisfaction of caring for people’s house and pets. For us, it is one of the best ways to travel.
Experience
We are experienced property managers and current homeowners. We understand what it takes to maintain and keep the property in working order. We have been professionally house sitting for four years, but we have a lifetime of taking care of homes/pets for friends, family and acquaintances. We have enjoyed the experience of house sitting in Ireland, Scotland, France, Mexico and various locations in the United States.
Our pet sitting experience at these locations has included cats (indoor & out) dogs (small & large), chickens and ducks. In his lifetime, James has cared for dogs, cats, fish, pigs, horses, cows, and he co-owned a Bichon Frise breeding facility for over fifteen years. Jolene has had experience with rabbits, hamsters, birds, dogs, cats and fish.
James comes from generations of gardeners and greenhouses; we both have a deep reverence for nature and maintain a small organic garden. James was a Naval Air Crewman and is also quite the handy man should any issues arise. Jolene is a certified feng shui consultant who enjoys clean and tidy spaces. We are both seasoned travelers with 20 plus countries and hundreds of cities between us. Traveling is something that comes naturally to us. Caring for others homes, pets and being immersed in a new location feeds our adventurous, creative spirits.
