I own a 13 acre historic mining town-turned farmstead, which I purchased about 12 years ago. During that time, I have renovated the original farmhouse and converted one of the barns into a modern barn home. Both of these are currently being offered as short term vacation rental properties. I am in the process of completing renovations to an 1890s log cabin, which is my primary residence and/or a caretaker's residence. The property is located halfway between the small town of Biwabik and the Giants Ridge Golf & Ski resort area. The property is bordered by a county road on the entrance side, and woodlands on the other side. Other than some road noise at times, it is very private and peaceful here. My girlfriend and I will be in Colorado pursuing other business opportunities during the months of April and possibly may, so are seeking an individual or couple to both housesit and handle any property management needs that may arise during our absence. Since it will be springtime (tourism off-season), we expect there to be minimal activity in the vacation rentals and minimal upkeep to be done, although we'd expect that suitable caretakers could handle basic tasks like cleaning, yard care, and feeding our small flock of chickens. We'd certainly welcome anyone who wishes to take on larger projects during your stay, as we always have a long wish list of things we'd like to build and do (construction, gardening, livestock, etc)...no shortage of activities around here, although relaxation is certainly a priority too! At this time, we would like to depart around for a period of at least one month, but could be longer if it suits both parties.
