Hello. We are Victor and Rose Platen from Australia. Victor is ex RAAF and a retired Public Servant. I am a retired Bookkeeper and published author. We are currently on our extended Senior Citizens Gap Year and are presently in the Canada and the USA until early March 2024.
We are an active, married couple in our mid sixties. Non smokers. Independent and self reliant. Fully COVID vaccinated with three boosters. We have travelled and moved around Australia and overseas for many years with the RAAF, including postings to Malaysia and the Solomon Islands.
We are experienced house sitters who since 2011, have looked after dogs (large & small), cats and poultry in the UK, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, New Zealand, Malta, Canada and the USA. Our personal travels have also taken us to the USA, Vanuatu, Germany and Sweden.
We are a responsible, thoughtful, reliable, mature couple who would take the upmost care with your home and pets.Our dogs have always been an integral part of our family, spending time with us inside and outside the house.
We love the great outdoors, the peace and quiet of the countryside, as well as the hustle and bustle of city life. We walk every day, and like to spend time in the garden. We love to cook, and are always happy to curl up with a good book, watch a movie or sport on the telly. We enjoy exploring new neighbourhoods and having coffee at the local cafe and watching the world go by. Our passion is travel and exploring new surroundings, so house sitting gives us the opportunity to feel like part of the community, and not just a tourist.
We do not charge for our house sitting services, and do not expect to pay a bond or utilities for short assignments (less than six weeks). Victor has a current police check as he was a volunteer with Rural Fire Service in NSW, and we have further current references available.
