We are a professional, non-smoking couple (aged forty-three and fifty one) without children. Having paid off our home we are looking to take this opportunity to explore a bit more of Australia and the world. We are taking extended leave from our jobs from May 2107 and travelling to Europe.
We are highly experienced house sitters having just completed our 13th house sitting assignment in Bali, Indonesia. We cared for 4 great little dogs and the owners lovely home and car. We have also recenly house sat and cared for two terrific Border Collies and a lovely home in Sydney. This was the third time we have house sat and cared for Mia and Diesel. We walked the dogs twice a day and gave lots of pats and love.
We completed a 5 day sit in Kuala Lumpur caring for a terrific little dog in October Caring for Julian involved walking him in the morning, playtime, feeding and giving lots of love and attention. In January 2015, we completed a 3 week house sit in Port Vila, Vanuatu. We cared for a large dog (Great Dane Neo Mastiff Cross) 4 cats and a litter of cute kittens as well as a lovely home, pool and car.
Prior to our most recent sits we completed a 2 month house sit in Grenada in the Caribbean, West Indies. It involved looking after four lovely dogs, one of which is 13 and had cancer and so required special care and attention. Caring for the dogs involved daily medication, regular walks, brushing, daily checking for ticks, a weekly bath and lots of love and affection. We cared for the owners home, car and plants and supervised the house staff.
We have also house sat overseas in Cyprus and Spain. We house sat on a farm in Cyprus for 12 weeks caring for 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 cows and 80 chickens. We also house sat in a small village in Spain for 8 weeks caring for a lovely dog.
We house sat in January 2013 in a small country town on the southern coast of NSW for 2 weeks. We cared for 2 elderly dogs that required gentle daily walks and timely administration of medication. During our stay we were involved in a real life bush fire emergency and prepared the dogs for evacuation.
We would look after your home the way we would our own - we are home-owners ourselves and are conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house maintained. We are both very house-proud and would consider it a privilege to care for your home, garden and pets. We are both animal lovers, and, having owned pets including cats, dogs, birds and rabbits, we understand the responsibility of caring for your pets and looking after them in your absence. Having been away from our own pets ourselves whilst traveling, we fully appreciate the concern that they are being looked after with care and compassion. I have completed a 'First Aid for Pets' course and a 'Happy Cats' course, both run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals (RSPCA).
We would be happy to provide references and a police clearance on request.
As well as house sitting and caring for pets we are also open to undertaking a caretaker couple role of properties that are expecting paying guests during our stay.
