We are an active, non-smoking Christian semi- retired couple. I am a company secretary working for a large charity and a JP, born in Canada and my husband is a retired lecturer/semi- retired optometrist originally from the UK. We live in Sydney, Australia. We would like to housesit in the Sydney and surrounding area while I am still working and my husband enjoys semi-retirement, so we can enjoy the benefits of different areas in Sydney and think about where to live when we finally both retire.
However, as we love to travel, we would also like to do housesits overseas, or even houseswaps, if timetables can be organised accordingly.
We love pets, and, until this year, had at least one or two cats for more than thirty years. We've also had guinea pigs, and fish and babysat/walked/cared for friends' pets (dogs, cats, fish, chickens etc).
We're happy to look after your garden as well; my forte is weeding, but we're both happy to prune, clip and cut lawns! However, we're also very house proud; your house would be well cared for and cleaned often.
We are both active and our socialising focuses around our interests - cycling, golf, dragon boat racing, Opera and church. We have been housecarers for friends for many years, mostly in Sydney; however have also done housesitting in country NSW caring for goats, chickens, coy fish and cats for a month; and in New York (Staten Island), caring for a large house for over a month. Otherwise we are relatively new to housesitting professionally, but can provide personal and business references.
