Housesitter Profile

Hello. I'm seeking a peaceful place, ideally for ~6 months from late Sept. through April or May. Though housecarers has us list preferred areas, I am fairly flexible on where the sit is. I did a ~3.5 month house/dogsit that I got through Housecarers last Winter. I have also housesat for a friend several times (had housekey for years), and her cat who takes several meds. I'm currently doing so now, while she's on her honeymoon. Over a decade ago, I painted a beach house for a stranger in exchange for living there alone for six months. I am frugal, and very light on utilities, except where it's hot and A/C is required. I need full-time broadband internet access.
Regarding animals, I had a dog for many years, and took her everywhere I could. She was family. I like to hike, and if I can take a dog off-leash, so much the better. I grew up rurally around farm animals and had a pony for a time. I have been vegetarian since college due to my concern for animals. I've rescued several stray/abandoned cats.
I'm happy to provide references from people who've known me for many years, as well as housesitting and dog/cat-sitting references. I'm a licensed physician (though have pursued other interests); the medical boards have vetted me thoroughly, including a FBI check by one. I know that entrusting your home and animals to a stranger can be daunting. I assure that I will treat your animals and home as my own, and/or up to your standard/instruction. I will do what I can to set your mind at ease, so that you can enjoy your time away worry-free. I'll do what I say. I need the same from you.
