Now mostly-retired from the workplace, I have been a highly successful full-time sitter and pet-carer for over two years through this site. I have many interests to keep me busy no matter where I reside, including writing projects, taking in the local museums, biking, tent camping in national/state parks. I also enjoy spending time with my family when I can get back East. I have owned several well-maintained homes over the years and I have loved my share of dogs and cats. But now have none of my own and am unencumbered and live lightly. I have resided on both coasts. Also I have worked and lived abroad several years. I am a non-smoker. I love the outdoors and find gardening and landscaping enjoyable. I am used to doing my own maintenance of house systems from woodstove heating and water cachement plumbing to composting toilets. Of course, conventional American homes have their own appeal! I am meticulous about house caring (i.e., dishes are never left in the sink) and am calm in a crisis. During my house-caring times, I have cared for cats and dogs of every age and temperament (including medications and shots), indoor plants (including orchids), vegetable and flower gardens and a greenhouse. I enjoy meeting new animals and their humans. I am a semi-retired commercial construction electrician and former Marine Corps officer. I will provide current references. Medium to long-term situations are preferred.
