Housesitting is definitely much more than feeding pets and looking after a house. Housesitting is confidence, a lot of respect towards the house owners and last but not least a fair amount of risk – for either side.
We are a semi-retired couple living in Switzerland. We are both non-smokers and very fit.
My husband Max is a very handy man and was brought up on a farm, so he is familiar with the needs of various kinds of pets and animals like horses, cats, chicken etc.
I am a very keen on all kinds of potted plants, but jolly well know the requirements of carrots and tomatoes, too. So taking care of a veggie garden would not only be an option, but great pleasure, too. I speak German, English, French and a few words of both Italian and Spanish.
Since we have had our own house for many years, we have plenty of experience regarding the care of a house and are well aware of the problems that can occur. We discovered housesitting in the summer of_2013. It opens a completely new field of activities and brings a welcome change into our lives.
We are responsible, tidy people and consider ourselves to be "normal" (well, who wouldn't...), apart from the fact that we are a bit nuts about travelling. We have travelled for several years in a motorhome and came across countries like the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and most of Europe.
Within Europe we drive our own car.
Usually we are flexible regarding terms. So if you should change your plans on short notice - no problem!
If you think that I have advertised our capabilities a bit clumsily, please consider, that English is not my mother tongue and give us yet a chance to proof. Thanks!
