My partner, Alan, and I are aged 60 and 58 respectively and now that the children have left home, we are free and excited to travel around. We are professionals in our line of business and have travelled extensively throughout our lives.
We have "sitted" for friends and strangers via word of mouth. All we need is our computers and our car. We have no financial responsibilities and a friend has opened our thoughts to housesitting as a comfortable form of living/accommodation whilst travelling. Well we are now doing it ... sitting in Byron Bay and have been asked by the home owner to extend several weeks, including the care of a 12 year old boy on alternate weeks. (So, pets and children NO PROBLEM)
We are able to stay up to 1 year in any one location. We are clean, tidy and have owned our own homes, therefore have respect for looking after home and garden. We are active, social and respectable people and enjoy quiet times at home together as well as the occasional outing for recreation.
Having both had pet dogs, canaries, turtles, fish, guinea pigs throughout our married lives, we love animals and enjoy interacting with them and caring for them. We can also look after a swimming pool or spa. Alan started out as an A grade electrician and he's very handy around the house. I love to potter.
