I am a mature professional (PhD sleep specialist/scientist) and wellness consultant (think - diet, exercise, and sleep!). I consider myself an entrepreneur given the wide scope of my career and business investments. Personally, I am a passionate person - from research to interpersonal relationship - I value honesty, truth, and service.
Next year, I am a mission to solidify my wellness vision and will accomplish this through professional and personal experiences. That is, I am looking to home sit (as well as find 'work exchanges') in opportunistic learning/teaching environments. Specifically, I am interested to learn more about eco homes, farming, permaculture, gardening, maintenance, building, and of course volunteer management and operations.
I could not be more excited to be leaving the busy corporate world (i.e. 'Rat Race') in exchange for a more idyllic lifestyle. I love to travel and immerse myself in new cultures and typically find myself more at peace with mountains or the desert nearby, but equally love lakes, rivers and oceans too!
I have experience house sitting for friends and family throughout my travels and work placements. I have visited countries and worked in the USA, Australia, and Qatar. Throughout this time, I have maintained (and rented) my own home overseas, and lived in leased apartments for over years. I have never damaged any property and have always had my deposit returned. As such, I understand the requirements of keeping up a home and treat all of the places I stay as if they are my own.
As for my professional experience, I have management experience from both the clinical/healthcare and teaching/research settings. I regularly participate in public speaking, supporting heating and wellness initiatives within the community. In addition, I am a business owner, and have managed large research grants. This financial background will be useful to ensure utilities and related bills get paid on time.
Finally, as for pets and children, I love them. I’ve had dogs, birds, and some cats throughout my youth and love them all equally, mostly for the unique friendship/companionship they so diligently offer. I do not have kids but I have been an uncle since I was eleven years old. In fact, I come from a large family with faith and conviction to provide service.
Altogether, I have a warm and calm personality, problem solving skills, and most importantly I am clean and reliable. I'm also incredibly resourceful and adaptable. I look forward to hearing more about your house sitting needs as I take this time for reflection and personal growth - maybe even write a book!
