I have owned, repaired, and maintained several homes - and a large restaurant. My extensive aircraft, automotive, and maritime background means that I am capable of repairing nearly anything, while maintaining the ability to recognize a project that is beyond my skill level.
I maintain a current merchant mariner's license and have undergone and passed all of the security clearances necessary for access to U. S. and international ports.
I come well equipped with a vast array of knowledge and skills: sheet rock, painting (acrylic, oil, two-part marine), basic plumbing and wiring, wood refinishing (teak, cedar, pine, oak, etc.), carpentry, power tool operation, and more. I'm great with people and an expert at project management.
I grew up on a farm and have had a variety of animals as family members in the recent past. I have loved and cared for horses, mules, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, cats, dogs, snakes, turtles, frogs, and a few others that escape my recollection at the moment.
My ideal housesitting assignment would provide me with opportunities to experience a new culture and, at the same time, allow some solitude for writing.
