Growing up in city and rural England, the spirit of adventure brought me to Australia on a working holiday in I am recently separated and retired from a farm and would really enjoy looking after your house, caring for your much-loved pets, keeping a garden alive, providing security to your precious belongings and whatever is required to allow you peace of mind while you have a holiday.
I am a non-smoker, enjoy city and country life, classical music and other cultural pursuits and I have a wide circle of friends. I used to speak fluent French, now a little rusty, although I sing in a french-speaking choir. I dabble in botanical art, enjoy reading, walking, travelling, knitting, sewing, snow ski-ing, gentle horseriding, swimming, cooking and of course animals.
My husband and I owned our own home on Sydney's north shore for many years, during which time I worked as a Personal Assistant in different organisations. We left the city for country life and for 25 years we owned a farm on the southwestern slopes of New South Wales, Australia, where we bred cattle as well as sheep. During this time we owned numerous dogs, a cat and several horses.
For some time I have had an arrangement with neighbours who breed Scottish Deerhounds to occasionally look after their dogs and water their garden, enabling them to have holidays away from their farm. Apart from obviously feeding and exercising several adult dogs, on one occasion there were numerous small puppies to look after for several weeks.
The reason I would like to house-sit is because I should love to be of help to people while being without a home of my own. I have no dependents and my family lives in the UK. I love animals, particularly dogs and believe you can safely trust your house, garden and 4-legged friends to my care.
Ideally house-sits in various parts of the world will help me to decide where to permanently settle. I have a happy disposition and will enjoy being wherever you would like me to housesit for you!
