Describe yourself and what you are looking for in a house sit?
We are Julie and Zach, a young married couple who work online while traveling around the world. Our schedule and location is completely flexible, making it easy for us to plan our itinerary around your travel needs. Julie is a freelance photographer and business consultant and Zach engineers acoustical models for his US-based employer. This allows us to work remotely anywhere, as long as we have a good Internet connection.
Why do you want to house sit?
Our work keeps us very busy even while traveling so housesitting allows us to feel normal and work in a quiet and private environment while also allowing the homeowner to travel worry-free knowing their home and pets are well-cared for. Housesitting has also given us the opportunity to stay in one place longer and really experience that place as a local rather than just passing through. We genuinely miss having pets around us so housesits with pets are an added bonus!
Are you experienced?
We have looked after multiple people's houses and pets across the United States and in Canada and have had only great experiences so far. We've had our own pets and even served as foster parents for rescue dogs in Austin, TX [which requires quite a background process and house visit].
Previous housesits include looking after dogs and a cat at a mountain house in Whitefish, MT [we have housesat for them multiple times]; medium-sized dogs in a luxury home in Austin, TX; one feisty Miniature Poodle in a family home with a pool in Austin, TX; and one German-Shepherd Rottweiler in a family home in Calgary, Canada. We have also cared for horses on numerous occasions outside of housesitting.
We take pride in keeping the houses clean and the pets happy and can provide multiple references.
What can you bring to the assignment?
Julie is originally from Canada and grew up on a ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Growing up she was blessed with two beautiful horses to ride and care for, a quarter horse with a spunky attitude named Moonbeam and a strong-willed thoroughbred named Sailor. Her parents and brothers are all animal lovers so she's always loved having canine and feline friends around to snuggle. Zach grew up mainly in Texas where independent souls flourish and he's never minded getting his hands dirty to solve a problem on the fly. He also grew up in a family with dogs, a cat, and even a pair of giant turtles.
