Main motivation is that I love to travel and do genealogical research. Currently, I do not own any pets. I do not smoke or take drugs, Social drinker at the most. Do not like the bar scene. Main hobbies are genealogy, reading and taking walks. I own my own condo so it is easy to be away for periods of times. Prior to my condo I had 5 cats and 2 dogs: Siberian Husky and a poodle. Husky died the year we divorced. Do not have a criminal record. I do have a concealed pistol permit and a valid driver's license and passport. Recently completed my first House Assignment in Goshen, Ohio from November 30, 2014 until March 1, 2015. The house sitting was in another state and went well.
Not as active in the community as I used to be. Past President and Treasurer of the Bay County Fair Board, served 10 years on the Bangor Twp. Board of Trustees, served on the Planning Commission , Zoning Board of Appeals, volunteer fireman and DDA Board of Directors for Bangor Township. Also served on the 911 Board of Directors and Bay Metro Board of Directors for Bay County. Also served on the Board of the Bay City Jaycees and was a former Bay City Lions Club member. Past president and treasurer and lay leader for my former church. Also past Treasurer for the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Current member and past Treasurer for the Bay County Genealogical Society, current member of the Arenac and Bay County Historical Societies, Bay City Moose Lodge and a member of the Birch Run, Michigan sons of American Veterans Legion Post 149. Currently serving as an Election Inspector for the Township of Bangor.
I worked at Delta College (community college) for 33 years prior to my retirement in Positions I held at Delta where Registrar, Director of Admissions and Testing Services, Director of Veteran Services, and Director Central Administrative Services.
Currently own and live in a condo in Bay City, Michigan. I was very active in my state and national associations and have been to many conferences around the US. Also was the chair of the Delta College Global Education Committee and took local residents on several international trips: Australia, New Zealand, Germany (3), Italy (2), Spain, Portugal, England (2) , Scotland (2), Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Czech (2), Switzerland, Austria (2), Hungary, Canada, Kenya and Morocco.
