I like to think of house sitting as a way of learning and cultural exchange. Not only how you live differently, but also how we might even live the same! It’s a fascinating way to really understand the local culture/community at a comfortable pace and truly appreciate the atmosphere.
I also think house sitting is a great way for homeowners to pursue their dreams and passion by making sure their house is safe and cared for in their absence. If I can help someone visit somewhere they've always wanted to for even just a week, my job is a wonderful success!
Travelers, by our very nature, are born problem solvers. I bring you a few years of experience dealing with both problems on the road and at home. Some examples include helping my elderly grandparents with errands, shopping and going to the doctors, navigating the healthcare systems in Australia and Japan, and acting as cultural ambassador at Kobe University to promote international research projects, design courses and teach English/Western culture. I have also completed a few household projects over the years. I’ve reorganized attics/libraries, done a few yard re-plantings, and have taken care of friends and family’s pets. Additionally, as a younger gentleman I can perform any needed strength requiring activities in addition to taking care of your pets and tending your garden. I can quickly act in case of emergency and have the stamina to handle all kinds of animals and possible landscaping jobs! Lastly, if you have any organizational or yard-work that needs to be finished; I can also offer that service as well.
