WHY I HOUSE SIT
I enjoy travelling and experiencing everyday life in different locations. I'd prefer not to be a tourist, but rather someone who fits in your neighbourhood. I enjoy a simple lifestyle and am content with my own company, but also enjoy meeting and getting to know others. I will strive to exceed your expectations; to have you experience a positive 'wow factor' when you return. I've found people always appreciate when I go the extra mile.
I am a volunteer at heart and enjoy helping others. While home in Niagara, I volunteer with Meals on Wheels and a program where I drive people to assist them so that they can remain longer in their own homes. I also volunteer extensively online with my teaching association. I am a certified teacher of English as a second language and have taught international students, both in Canada and Mexico.

I know I can deliver peace of mind, caring for your home and pets, but how can I stand out from the crowd, you ask? If you have any special request, I'm happy to try and accommodate you, and always at no cost to you. I've managed vacation rental properties while the owners were away and have even stood in line before daybreak to secure a boat dock space.
KEEPING IN TOUCH
I've found it best to cater to the homeowners' preferences; whatever gives you peace-of-mind is fine with me. I've accommodated those who enjoy daily updates with texts, s, photos, and videos, as well as those who want a device-free vacation and only want to hear from me in an emergency.
PET CARE
Most pet owners tell me their pet is their #1 priority, so I make it mine too. I know I can't replace you, but I'll do my best to follow your instructions and give your pet my tender loving care.
Generally, I am comfortable with animals who need medication, as well as those needing special care, such as for anxiety issues. I've worked with pet owners to resolve digestive issues, or to bring coats back to looking shiny and healthy. I'm always ready and willing to provide grooming and regular hugs, as well as an occasional treat, if allowed. I will follow your instructions for feeding and exercise routines. I do admit to having some pets sleep on the bed with me, if that's normal in their household. I'm quite adaptable :)
HOME SECURITY & MAINTENANCE
Having house sitters in my home, I can relate to concerns about leaving a home and belongings in someone else's care. I have owned homes and rental properties for more years than I care to admit, and have turned my hand to doing much of the maintenance, repairs, and renovations over that time. I know my limitations, but also know the general operation of a household. I understand the need to have responsible caring people in control. Rest assured, your property will be well cared for by me!
Meticulous cleaning is standard for me, with many homeowners commenting in their reviews that they came home to a house that was cleaner than when they left. Again, success!
