We are looking for someone who loves dogs and would look after our four dogs as we would ourselves. We have recently retired and have looked forward for so long to travelling around Australia. I have just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and we have decided to take the plunge and do it sooner rather than later whilst I can still travel. The problem is finding someone who loves animals and would treat our dogs as they are used to being treated (a big part of the family). We would love to go for 6 months with the option of another 6 months if the right person comes along. We live in a comfortable but modest home in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains of NSW with a large living area. It offers internet access, a dishwasher, etc and you would be very comfortable. We are 20 minutes from the Ski fields and 2hrs from Canberra and 5hrs from Sydney. The main duties would be caring for the dogs, keeping them company and warm over the winter months. We do have a garden which would take little looking after during winter. It would be advisable to have your own car as public transport isn’t great in this area. A 4WD would not be necessary as we only get snow in the town about twice a season.
