Hey hello!
I am a healthy sixty year old. I discovered Housecarers from an Australian solo through hiker this summer. Although I knew I wanted to take a self funded sabbatical from my teaching career, I had no idea I would be able to meld my passion for tutoring dyslexic children with my desire to travel. In August, I began to tutor students on line through Varsity Tutors, which gives me the flexibility to work very part time, care for your pets and travel on the way. It is the best of all worlds.
Hence, I have had a few successful pet sitting positions in the past few weeks. I recently completed a sit in Portland, Oregon, I am currently cat sitting in Sacremento, CA, and in February, I will be in Oakland, CA.
As a pet owner, I received my first pet at age 7. Noisy, a stray black cat, (my mother surprisingly allowed me to keep,) was my first darling. Since then, I have had German Short Haired Pointers, rescued mixed breed of cats and dogs and most recently, a Cocker Spaniel, named Jazzy.
In my large extended family, we have two Border Collies, a Newfoundland named Clancy and two docile Golden Retrievers. I swear, whenever I get together as a family, we talk about our pets more than our children! And I seem to be the dog magnet! I have found that walking and caring for dogs is very good for my soul. Being outside, in any weather, gives me time to pause and enjoy the beauty that surrounds me.
As a home owner, professional teacher and working mom, I have taken excellent care of the homes I have owned. I understand the value of money, investments and the pride of home ownership. I will provide you with service to your home and gardens that meet those values.
I pride myself on being an excellent commuicator. I always send photos and updates to my families. My goal is to provide you with a secure feeling that your pets and your home will be treated with the care you desire.
I am friendly, loving and kind to all pets and hosts that I meet. I have had several background checks, I do not smoke or drink and I travel alone. My interests are yoga, meditation, travel and journaling.
