Caring your home and beloved furbabies is my top priority.
Hi! My name is Kathleen and I am a kind, responsible woman from Auckland, New Zealand. After spending the past few years building a unique business here in New Zealand and bringing up two, now grown children. I found myself lacking in one area and that is time. While I love my business and what I have built I am now venturing into full time slow travel where I experience new locations, have time to sketch and journal and connect with animals and people from around the world.
I am comfortable with not leaving your property for long periods. I am non-smoking and happy with my own company. There will be no problems with noise from me!
I am happy to keep contact with you and keep you updated with your beloved pet updates as often as you wish! I will leave your home cared for and tidy. I will remember to water your plants and bring in your mail too!
I will miss my own fur babies while I travel so I look forward to fluffy hugs with yours.
I have a gorgeous calico cat named Timba who brings me daily lizard gifts (which I retrieve ASAP and return them to freedom!). A sweet free range guinea pig named Phoebe who trots over to my garden office daily for treats and visits.
My suburban home backs onto a native bush reserve so I have been lucky able to build a large chicken house with more than 20 free range hens. For many years my friends call me the chicken lady! One of my family's favourite thing is to dress up chooks and create photographic scenes... chooks love attention and are completely trainable!
I haven't had a dog in my adult life however I frequently would walk and teach polite behaviour with my neighbours dog during his puppy months. I grew up with a family dogs and am comfortable with dog care and activity requirements. I grew up on a farm! Being from New Zealand this seems pretty normal :)
I once rescued 15 guinea pigs from an unfortunate situation, this resulted in rescuing MANY over the following years. At one point I had 85 guinea pigs under my care. All were bought to health and rehomed. This was a truly are rewarding time and I got so much joy from seeing them go to new forever homes.
During my time in your home I envisage spending my time quietly in the company of your pets. Time is one thing that I have found lacking in my busy life. It would be my pleasure to be of service to you in this way and give you the confidence to enjoy your trip away from home.
Any questions welcome. While this is my first experience as a Pet/House sitter I am happy to provide you with character references or even an online viewable television interview (my business was featured on New Zealand news) so you can get a feel of who I am!
Thank you for your consideration! Happy trip planning!
