My husband and I really enjoyed this pet/house sit.
The two cats were beautiful and friendly after they warmed up to us. They are not lap cats but loved to play and be stroked and brushed.
The house was immaculate and very comfortable with lovely kitchen, living areas and outdoor space.
And there are many shady and gorgeous walking trails just a couple of blocks away. You can walk for hours if you want to.
Highly recommended!

We cared for Catherine & George’s sibling cats, Phoebe & Joey, and their lovely home from September 2021 to March 2022. It was a real treat to enjoy time both with these delightful kitties and in their comfortable and spacious home. Communication with Catherine over the entire period of our sit was excellent — she was always available to answer questions or if owner type decisions needed to be made.
We quickly developed routines with the 8 year old kitties — feeding, grooming, playing and relaxing together. With entirely different personalities, they were still creatures of habit, and taught us how everything was to be done in early days. Phoebe made it clear, by flopping onto her back to expose her belly on our first morning, just where she wanted her brushing : ) Joey, with his dominant personality, would run into the master bathroom to tell us just when he would like a drink from the running tap and also that he enjoys a brushing while drinking. Being early risers, we were not inconvenienced by Joey’s early morning wake-up calls. Our home-body tendencies met with approval from the kitties as they love lots of company and attention.
Catherine left ample notes for our referral and we certainly used them many times during our time at their home. She was responsive to any issue that arose regarding the cats and the home during our stay — exactly what a sitter would wish for.
Nanaimo is a gem of an area for the nature lover — plenty of excellent ocean and forest paths to explore during the kitties’ nap time. There is even a pond behind the home, with a walking path following the perimeter for daily brisk walks. As well, there is everything one could want for amenities nearby.
The kitchen is fabulous, not only spacious with cupboards but equipped with excellent tools for the practice of one’s culinary skills — which we made ample use of. Mustn't forget to mention that the guest bed we slept in is very comfortable, with closet & drawer space in the bedroom.
All in all, we had a splendid long sit with Joey & Phoebe, and are even scheduled for a second sit coming up this summer. We look forward to reuniting with these two sweethearts.
